Odd Marmoset at Paradise WP, 01/09/13

In with the the Silvery Marmosets. Is it just me or does this look like a Mico x Callithrix hybrid?

It certainly looks like a hybrid of something....

Silvery x Common would be my guess [though no idea which way around?

Certainly looks a Mico x Callithrix, indeed it is a weird looking beastie!

Silvery is certainly in the mix somewhere from the look of it, but I really would not want to call what the other part of the parentage was.

Well I personally think you're all wrong, it is clearly an escaped gremlin x critter hybrid!

The only negative is if it's fertile then critters breed like rabbits, with or without water...

Totally missed this...

It is a cotton topped tamarin x common marmoset, it was a total accident which happened about 2 years ago now and many people i have spoken too believed it couldn't happen. Apparently only a handful of tamarin x marmoset hybrids have happened world wide so it does happen although very rarely, which is a good thing!
Imagine how many marmosets and tamarins are kept in rainforest type mixed species exhibits throughout the world...
