I would love to be able to say what type of Quail this is,but seeing as it was an un-known hybrid from a private collection that kept atleast,4 species of Quail in the same aviary I don't think will be able to.

I didn`t say it wasn`t a hybrid quail, i just said it looks like a partridge to me. I can possibly find out for sure if you are interested ?

Yes I do agree, looking at it the body colouring looks more like a hybrid Bobwhite x Cali, the closest comparison I have just found is a hybrid Spot-bellied Bobwhite X Californian but the one in the Paultons photo lacks the black bib and is more cream coloured than white on the face, also we can`t see any crest in the photo ? Anyway an interesting subject and a very pretty bird all the same.
