Opinions? Is this aquarium too small for a fish of that size?

Far too small. Should be in a tank several times bigger than that. The unfortunate fish looks like it can barely turn round. Awful.

Regrettably, that fish may only be half grown. It will need a tank at least three times that size eventually.
It may be a rescue case: far too many redtails, pacus and giant gouramis are imported at small sizes and bought by people who haven't bothered to think about the consequences.

Yes, it doesn't look anything like full-grown. My first thought was this that looks more like the kind of tank they're rescued from, not the zoo exhibits they usually end up in!

I'm very sorry to say, but this, along with the Brown Lemur and Racoon cages, was the worst "enclosure" I've ever seen in any UK collection.

E: You can also add their civet enclosure to that list as well.

You're right, that is appalling - definitely one of the worst UK animal exhibits. Ponderosa's racoon cage has to be up there with them too, though. Just wait for my photos.
