Orycteropus

Southern Cheetah exhibit

i know youve been there in the past, so to let you know, it was once a maned wolf enclosure

yes i remember the maned wolf in this enclosure very well there were 3 or 4 when i visited in the early 90s and they were very active

Its a shame they all died because maned wolves are an amazing species , id love to see more south american and central american fauna at Howletts and Port lympne

At Howletts they have Capybara and Pudu sharing a paddock, and they also had both the giant and lesser anteater species, which left recentley due to frosty relations with another Kentish Collection from which they were sourced. Fortunately, a new male giant anteater was obtained a month or two ago and they hope to keep the tamandua again.

Its good that Howletts have capybara and pudu , and its even better that they have anteaters ,what collection did they have a problem with? , but id love to see more newworld primate species , especially spidermonkeys

The Rare Species Conservation Centre. You'll find quite a bit of discussion about that place on the forum. ;)

Thankyou my friend , i wonder why there was such a conflict of interest between these 2 collections , i will check out the forum for this other zoological garden
