This is the first evidence I've actually seen that they have castrated a male. Can you remember if you took this at the top area of the park or the bottom? I believe they may have castrated two male Lions- Suliman(the main breeder in the large enclosure bottom end of park) and Jabir (enclosure near African experience pay desk/entry).
It seems they've put a complete 'fullstop' on their 'Barbary' lion breeding now. I wonder if they have altered their signage accordingly though?
So that's the ex-breeding male 'Suliman' I think. I'm not surprised the signage remains the same though.
I believe they still have one of his last male cubs 'Moonlight'- now a full adult maned Lion, in the area where the tigers are. I guess they are hoping somewhere else may want this male (his litter brother recently went to Hanover to start yet another 'Barbary' group) so he probably won't be castrated.
