How are these tunnels from a visitors perspective? I like the management aspect of them, allowing the cats to patrol a much larger territory.

Is this the enclosure that they have been working on for a couple of years in the corner of the bison paddock?

No, this is a very old enclosure, previously holding lynx/often left empty, which can only be accessed if you walk along the top of the upper elephant paddock. The path leads down a slope and comes to a dead end at this enclosure. The corner of the banteng paddock would be to the left of this (or at least, where they held Banteng).

I am suprised this enclosure was brought to life in such an interesting way for wildcats, it always looked like one of their overflow generic small cat enclosures, and was previously seldom used.

Currently all 10 Scottish Wild Cats are off show. On April 21st 2011 they reopened the Caracal and the lynx exhibit but after speaking to the carnivore keeper he said that the wildcats they are off show for breeding.
