Not the best looking enclosure, what a nightmare it was trying to get a shot of them! They do hope to plan to make a new enclosure in a couple of years which would be good! Did you see the female on the right?

Not that they are likely to still have the species in a couple of years, unless these two animals have avoided getting the kidney disease :(

Still, nothing stopping them getting another nice small cat in there.

Yes that's true, fingers crossed they stay, although they have such a short life span in captivity! I saw both females a few months ago, but the male is much easier to get a glimpse off late in afternoon

Unfortunately, the last one had passed away just prior to my first visit to PL in October 2014. This was the sight/site on my most recent visit, just a few days ago:

One of the small cat keepers said the last male had mycoplasma which is contagious to other cats so they had to dismantle the enclosure.

what an odd way to dismantle/destroy a cage. Is it some form of modern art? I am bewildered by the whole cage being demolished but with the sign still lying right there on the ground. It just looks so strange.

To be fair, I think I happened to capture this mid-dismantling, while the dismantlers were away on their lunch-break. I passed by again a couple of hours later and much had been cleared away, including the sign. It was the presence of the sign which drew me to photograph the scene though -- kind of a sad comment on the fate of the BFC in Europe (no reflection on PL of course)...

It looks as if they burnt the wooden sections of the structure- it would have been very old, and if the cats carried something contagious, safer to do so anyway.
