Alright. I'm confused. What do you mean by "sandwich" here? This is probably just a stupid question, but I just don't understand it!

Beautiful photo though, well done.

Sandwich is the name of the town/village where RSCC is located :)

I had a feeling I was saying something stupid. I probably should have known that. Guess I'm just hungry :) Thanks Javan Rhino, for answering by question, and refraining from making a joke.

Your question has already been answered, but it wasn't a stupid question at all; not coming from England, there is absolutely no reason why you should have known.

Thank you very much. :)

Some Sandwich facts:

Sandwich (the town) indrectly gave its name to the popular picnic item - the 4th Earl of Sandwich reputedly invented it by asking for a bit of meat between two slices of bread so that he could eat at the gambling table rather than taking breaks for meals!

The same Earl of Sandwich also had some Pacific Islands named after him - the Sandwich Islands, now better known as Hawaii. The 'Sandwich' name lives in on the scientific name of the Hawaiian Goose/Ne-Ne - Branta sandvicensis.

The Sandwich Tern, Thalasseus sandvicensis, however, is named after the town. ;)

All that's not really relevant, but quite interesting! :D

Beautiful animal. Does anyone know where it will go now that RSCC is closing?

In my ideal world, Twycross, who have just lost theirs. But that's wishful thinking!

They had a pair on show when I was last there, but I think that was the pair that is now at Edinburgh.

There were three specimens on show on Saturday.

I think you're right, though, that these were different individuals to the ones that were there a while ago.
