Lovely photo of a great species Tim . When I visited last Summer they were housed indoors . I assume from the back ground that they now outside . Is this a new enclosure ?

Nice shot Tim!

Many thanks, guys, for your kind comments about my photograph.:)

To answer your question, “Bele”:-

This is not a new enclosure; I have seen young clouded leopards in it on previous visits.

There appears to be two groups of yellow-throated marten. In addition to the outside exhibit, featured in this photo, there is still a label inside for the species on the cage where I them last year.

wow that's a fantastic photo. It looks like it has been possessed by some evil demon, risen up to walk like a man, and is about to start its conquest of world domination! It even has a perfect evil scowl.

Possessed by this evil entity, perchance?

ooh, when that marbled cat was alive I bet it did have eyes exactly like that yellow-throated marten!

Thank you very much :)

however, I don't understand why the yellow-throated marten looks as though it "has been possessed by an evil demon". And I certainly don't see the connection between this and a badly mounted marbled cat. Maybe I'm missing something:

The green eyes look so jealous that I wondered if Tim had a dead chicken in his mouth as he was composing the picture :D
On second thoughts, I decided eyeshine from fill-in flash (very well exposed) or a very fortuitously directed sunbeam was a better explanation.

I think Chli was referring to the fact the eyes are glowing due to the flash of your camera or the direction of the sun, the marten is standing bipedally and staring into the shot :p as for the connection to a poorly-mounted Marbled Cat, if you click through to the discussion of that photograph you will note that it descends into a rather enjoyable bit of silliness suggesting the Marbled Cat is a soul-eating demon, to which conversation I was referring.

Thanks for the explanation.

OK I guess the sparkle in the marten’s eye does give it some “character” but I was surprised by the way it was described as “evil”; I just wasn’t expecting that sort of anthropomorphism.
