There are certainly a number of massive exhibits at this open range zoo, as the lions, wild dogs, cheetahs, hippos, gorillas, etc, all have great-looking habitats. I've consistently heard that Werribee is full of top-notch exhibits, but with only a few hundred animals the lack of species has always been its downfall.
The wild dogs are juuuuuust visible, right down the back lying on the grass.
And the lack of species is a bit of a disappointment. After spending a couple of hours there you realise that, apart from what you see on the drive-through, all you've seen is gorillas, lions, meerkats, cheetah, hippo and wild dogs (the Vervets and crocs were off display when I visited).
