I hope that is legible - I have a landscape version at the ready if required. I am afraid the scale has gone a little to pot in places (not just in the centre of the zoo) and this plan makes the penguin and monkey exhibits look smaller than they are. Additionally the zoo is not quite as straight up and down as this as it leans (for want of a better word!) to the right at the bottom (at the bottom right the not very legible bit says "hard standing area" by the way - the "African Farm" does not get much use in the summer months). The paddocks outside the zoo are both much larger than the zoo itself; one is in the estate and the other is on the clifftop, both have subdivisions but were originally just two large paddocks connected by a bridge (no longer there as the ginnel between them was filled in a good few years ago - its walls were crumbling for one thing).
Aaargh, just noticed I have missed the service entrance gate to the Pheasants and Lemurs, not surprisingly it is just to the right of the new sick bay in turn just to the right of the entrance - as you face them from within the zoo of course.
I'd hope an official one would be more to scale and be more the correct shape at the bottom right (I've just noticed the paddock fence by the playground is not at the correct angle too)!
P.S. I realised last night I had also not shown the gate into the paddock currently housing the Pygmy Goats and Cameroon Sheep - it is opposite the end of "Cavy Country", nor had I shown the shelters in two of the paddocks .
I mentioned my plan drawing exploits this afternoon and the Head Keeper said there had been a plan produced (it was in connection with a proposed extension of the zoo) and located it in a file. It was from a few years ago, so there have been a few changes since then but it had the correct shape of the zoo!
