As the zoo kitchen has been redecorated it has been possible to take a clear photograph of this piece of zoo history - the site of a heater that served two of the indoor quarters for monkeys. The Head Keeper told me the heater was protected by a grille on either side. In those days the Stump-tailed Macaques would have been on the other side of the wall, and I think it would have been Rhesus Monkeys on this side. Before that this side would have been the indoor quarters for the Lar Gibbons.
