P P Pertinax 19 Nov 2014 You can identify in flight by calls; 'A-honk'. Canada 'Wink wink' Pinkfeet. 'Gung-gung(or similar) Greylag. I would think Canada is most likely though. If it was Flamingo Park they could be Barnacles too, but it isn't near there is it?

Parrotsandrew 19 Nov 2014 Well, they certainly seem to honk. No, Sewerby is not that near to Kirby Misperton - it's 35 to 40 miles away or thereabouts.

P P Pertinax 20 Nov 2014 I would think Canadas. I don't think Yorkshire is a Pinkfeet wintering area like e.g. Norfolk is.
Parrotsandrew 20 Nov 2014 I'd never imagined Canadas. I suppose I'd always thought all the geese flying around were Greylags but then my goose knowledge is not at all great, not really extending beyond the visual identification of several species.
