I don't agree with that at all! Having lived with these guys (The gray squirrels) I wouldn't mistake them due to the fact that the grays are bigger, the tails are thicker(Could just be this individual. IDK), and they are completely gray while this is gray towards the front and towards the back is red.
I am speaking from a European perspective. Compared to our European Red Squirrel, this animal more resembles a Grey squirrel, though I appreciate its actually a different species.
Gray/Grey. Spelling different in US and UK.(we say Grey with an e.)
