Is this place considered to be one of the worst zoos in the UK? Between this and the seemingly staged otter-bear fight in one of the other photos it looks quite awful.
Most likely they've hit 'Enter' between each line of that sentence, so their word processing/DTP software has assumed each line is a new sentence and auto-capitalised.
Basically just someone who could do with a hour or two's DTP training (and being told lemurs are not monkeys) and this sign would look much better.

I'd recommend you visited, then you can judge for yourself rather than all the bad reports. I agree that most of the collection is badly presented however, they have achieved some good breeding records, e.g. Babirusa and Southern White Rhinos to name a few.

It is at the other end of the country for me but I have to say I've never felt any desire to go there. I recently visited another place with a poor reputation- Noah's Ark outside Bristol, and that is even worse than I expected from the various photos. I rather expect SL would strike me the same way.

on one of the other threads you stated that South Lakes is one of your favourite collections, and yet here you "agree that most of the collection is badly presented". To me, the second opinion would mean the first opinion would be untenable. A zoo could breed a million babirusa a year and have a whole host of rarely-seen species, but if it was all housed in a dodgy fashion then it would immediately drop out of any running for my "favourite" position.
