I believe these two photos are the first ones anyone has uploaded of the South Lakes Tayra; it is amazing how different this individual looks when compared with the animals down at Exmoor Zoo, a photo of which I enclose below.
If I am not mistaken, it appears the SLWAP animal in the photo is somewhat overweight.
They move quite quickly and are VERY active so it is hard to get photos
They do have another who prefers to stick nearer the ground but when i visit again i shall make it my mission to take a photo! The other one is slightly lighter - although not as light as the Exmoor individual.
I thought the same, a lot of near misses as it attempted to balance on branches that wouldn't hold its weight
