Having never been to Southport I am pleasantly surprised at these pictures. It is nowhere near as bad as I had been led to believe-looks like the place just needed a bit of tlc! although i realise these pictures were taken leading up to the zoos demise so maybe things were getting run down?
This was a farewell visit only a couple of weeks or so before closure, but to my eyes parts of the zoo always looked a little in need of refurbishment - it was certainly not a bad place though, I liked it and I wish it had remained open.
