It's a very big space with an enclosure at the back seperate from the public. It's a new enclosure and I heard they're planning to install planting in soon.
I didn't realise this enclosure was open topped until I looked closer. I cant understand why they have made it open topped? its hardly worth for an enclosure this size and will limit any climbing structures added. Im amazed they cant get out of this- knowing how high cats can jump -there are several good launching points!
Its got an overhang all the way round and the wildcats would always try to jump up the wire sides, not in the middle.
Seeing that big rockface at the back its a shame they didn't incorporate at least part of it as the backdrop of the enclosure. As it is, it looks rather as if its 'landed' in the large space of the surrounding quarry.
yes, being open topped means they have to restrict climbing facilities within the enclosure to prevent escapes. I can't see the point of no roof. I'd have preferred a longer, roofed cage with the rockface as the backwall.
