Edge of Africa

Paddock, hard standing and indoor quarters. Note the ugly barrier.

How big is this paddock? With more stabling, could it accommodate more species - allowing for the fact that zebra are uneasy neighbours for a great many animals!

Plains zebra seem to mix quite well, as far as I'm aware it's Grevy's that tend to be aggressive. I imagine Hartmann's zebra are not good to mix because of their nervous disposition and less social behaviour. I'm not an expert though, I could be miles out on the last point.

It is not Whipsnade size, but it is at least as large as many of the paddocks at Chester. It could easily contain herds of six or eight plains zebra and a similar number of eland, provided extra hard standing and stables were constructed.
I like this stocking combination - particularly as eland seem to be mostly safari park animals in the UK now. More agile antelope could possibly jump that fence.
