It's still in the EU at present, as there is an established process which has to be followed prior to a country leaving the EU - one which has not yet started, let alone been completed.

As DEFRA has - I believe - stated they fully intend to enforce this regulation beyond the departure of the UK, this is a moot point anyway.

that's the main thing I was wondering about. As far as raccoons go, I can't see it as a bad thing.

Problem is, raccoons are invasive in Germany due to escapes from fur farms in the 1940's and not escapes from private or public zoological collections - so the legislation is rather silly considering fur farms have a specific exemption allowing them to continue keeping species such as the raccoon, raccoon dog, american mink and coypu even after zoological collections are prevented from doing so :p
