Twycross has decent numbers of Siamangs and Lar, Agile, Pileated and White-cheeked Gibbons, as well as a lone Mueller's. Most are held in this house. Until a few years ago there was also a male Kloss' Gibbon.

There are 6 species of gibbon here? I'm impressed, but how would you rank the enclosures?

Adequate. They're a bit bog-standard really. The inside dens for almost all the primates are simple glass-fronted, tiled affairs. Not attractive but they get the job done. The outside areas almost all pretty well-furnished cages; though they tend to look a bit scruffy owing to Twycross's 'recycling' approach to enrichment - the animals are given old kids' toys, old clothes - all sorts of rubbish!

For the smaller primates, there's nothing specifically wrong with Twycross's enclosures - they're just a bit nondescript!

Can anyone place where this was in the zoo?

@Crowthorne @sooty mangabey Yep - this is now 'under' Gibbon Forest, looking inward from the 'corner' of the zoo near the then-Babirusa enclosure. All the enclosures you can see behind have actually also been removed now - if they'd been missing when I took this the next thing you'd see at the top left would be what is now the Colombian Spider Monkeys. :)

Thank you both, sounds like this part of the zoo has completely changed recently, no wonder I couldn't place it!
