Male Western Lowland Gorilla at Twycross 13/09/09

Assuming I\'ve not got my gorillas in a twist (which is quite possible), this is the new male Oumbi.

Erm... the females in the house with just one outside yard (next to the cafe). Beyond that I don't know! Sorry I can't be more helpful!

I as at Twycross today too. This is indeed Oumbi, he is with Asante, Ozala and Matadi. Ozala was grooming him at one stage, but she was never letting him be alone with Matadi, who had some wounds and was very wary indeed of the big guy. Asante was doing her own thing, she has a long cut on the back of her head, and Oumbi has some minor marks too - but nothing seemed too serious, although they will need to keep an eye on Matadi. The gorillas were being watched by keepers from the house at all times. My pictures are uploading onto my PC at the moment.

Thanks for that Gentle Lemur , With Boulas arriving soon do you know who he will go with?
The other group i would imagine but do you think there could be a swap around in the groups?

He with be introduced to the two older females, Biddy & Bongo.

These are are not likely to breed.

Thanks Tuan i tought so i remember Boulas perhaps being infertile on other threads,
I wish them good luck with Oumbi

Oumbi looks a bit tense in this photo- maybe the brickwork is not to his liking...

Seriously, he does look tense-it will probably be some weeks before he settles down completely in his new surroundings.
