Im pleased you think so too Pertinax, I saw Ganesh last week and thought he looked awfully thin. I did ask the keeper who said he thought he was ok and it depended on the Elephant! I also asked why half his ear was missing, he said it had fallen off because he had an infection.
When we went to see him his mother gave him a lovely swipe with her trunk and sent him flying into the door (a keeper came running out and radioed that he was ok I gather they had seen it on the webcam or heard the noise!) before letting him feed very briefly
When I saw them they were all out in the outside paddock and all four adults and the little calf were moving round together as a closeknit little family unit. They all seemed to be caring and protective of the calf.
