They are pure, I remember when they first got them it was on the local news in the midlands as it was a big deal having them pure. They were saying how lots roaming Scotland were not 100% pure.
 
This tail tip does end in a point. In pure Scottish Wild cats it is 'truncated'- it ends in a blunt bush.

The claim of purity could be just publicity as the evidence does seem to contradict this.

My thinking exactly. I remain unconvinced!
