The pen up between the dholes and cassowary has the breeding pair and the youngster. There is also an additional male in the small pen at the back of the Babirusa yard.
They are the only ones in the UK - Twycross doesn't have many ungulates, but this one's a gem!
Yeah I knew about the ones near the Dholes with the breeding pair and youngster, but was unaware of the other male behind the barirusa. How comes this is alone? any plans for it? Also do any of you guys know anything about the date the hyenas are to go int the old lion enclosure? I know that before something might be going in there and im sure we all know what that is!
The zoo originally had two males when they first took on the species (not unusual for new holders of such a rare zoo animal). Later, a female was sent and one male paired up with her. The spare male may be paired up at Twycross, but more likely he will move to another zoo.
Nothing I can add to the hyaena situation I'm afraid!
