Crikey - no idea how I missed the Java Sparrow when labelling this!

As I recall, there are Splendids, Bourke's and I think a third... Turquoisines maybe?

I can't see Zebra finch s/b number 41623577291- the one with the white feather, in this photo either....;)

Ah, but that one's very shy - I think 4167456920 picks on it a bit too much. Maybe they should separate them?

Possibly. But they'd need to apply for a movement recommendation from the ZF studbook co-ordinator first.

I dont call them Long Tailed Finch, I call the Hecks Grass Finch, but thats just what Ive been brought up naming them! :D

I think strictly, Heck's is a subspecies of Long-tailed (Poephila acuticauda hecki). It may be that Twycross' finches are Heck's, but as I wasn't sure I played safe and stuck with the species!

EDIT: Just checked and the distinguisher for hecki is a red bill, so these are indeed Heck's Long-taileds.

Well the ones I kept were Hecks, so I guess thats what I am used to, but I also thought that they were more common in Captivity...
