I'm afraid I don't know - there was no sign to say. Looked very small though.

Was this baby in the family group that have a youngster of a couple of years old ?

Good to see , with the one at Blackpool , two pileated gibbons bred in the UK this year . Do hope that the imported pair at Colchester start to breed as well , not certain how old they are .

It was with a trio, not a pair, so that sounds right.

Thanks Maguari . There was a small baby when I visited in October 2008 so a 2 year gap between births sounds about right .

Great picture how many in the group i have a similiar picture of the one at Blackpool(See Gallery).
Regards Jordan.

On my visits to Twycross I've always found taking pictures in these indoor areas particularly awkward with the dim lighting and loads of reflections in the glass, which is one of the reasons I think this is a really good picture. Lovely subject too, I hope in the future I'll be able to see baby Pileated Gibbons at my local zoo (Colchester)

Thanks all, it was one of two good shots among about a dozen blurry ones! :D
