Looking at the latest zoo map, the largest primate house (next to the small mammal house/howler monkeys is now marked as a 'chimpanzee attraction - coming soon'. Does anyone know anymore details of this? If this entire house is now vacated, it may be a sign that construction is imminent...

Is this the Primate House in the centre of the lawn near the Elephants and which used to house the Diana/Roloway Monkeys,Red-tailed and Crowned Guenon etc.?
If this is to be the site for a new Chimpanzee complex, the plans have changed rather(there's a surprise!) as it was originally intended to encompass the (oldest) Gorilla House and old Children's/Pet's barn area behind the House/Hall.
The interesting thing is that if/when this Chimpanzee enclosure is built, will they put all the current 'groups' together in it? If so, three existing ape houses will be left empty (knock 'em down?.) Could this at long last be the start of getting rid of some of the horrible brick ape buildings there?
What about the planned Lion & Dhole enclosures. Timewise will they still take priority?
