Did you hear about it in the media first? Don't tell me you ran into a Leopard Seal by pure conincidence!? ;)
 
My luck's not that good unfortunately :D

It's appearance was posted on the NZ birding forum, so I took the day off and went to see it. Glad I did too, because one of my workmates went along at the end of the day and it had already departed. He wasn't too happy :)
 
Amazing animal; I'll never forget Brooke at Taronga, never! I spend the lion's share of my day there at her pool.
