Giraffe Sign.

I've tried reading the sign, but can't make out some of it. Why are they getting rid of giraffes? Something about not wanting to build a new barn?

Are they going to continue to exhibit elephants?

I can't read this either, but from other comments it seems they decided this old enclosure is 'unsuitable' for them and have sent the last two Giraffe(females) to Blair Drummond Safari Park which is in Scotland, and where they will have much more room. Some people on here have commented they are losing too many big species this way, having just lost Sealions also. It might have been better to renovate/rehouse them within the Zoo but cost seems a significant factor here.

Elephants- unlikely they will leave- the Housing is modern and they are a big draw.

If you click on the picture and the "original" at the bottom left, it brings it up in a window which allows you to zoom in and read it :)

It is a rather grim Giraffe House. Does anyone know what they intend to do with this space? The height might make it very good for Orang-utans.

I'm sure Twycross has a wonderfull plan for a species that will make full use of the height of the House.

There isn't a lot you can do with an empty Giraffe House that doesn't say 'this is a disused Giraffe House'.
