Its possible but if it is its not the exciting new exhibit that they were claiming was going in there a few months back!But hang on doesn't a flower bed normally mean that you need a gardener???

I suppose the herbs are to be used for enrichment purposes for the animals rather than the public/cafe.
I remember a while ago reading about a zoo that grew herbs in trays that were then placed in a gorilla enclosure and secured with a metal grill over the top so the apes could pick the leaves as grew through when they wanted them but not destroy the plants . They were replaced periodically to allow variation and the plants to recover. Can any one recall the zoo?
