Female Vicugna vicugna with young, less than two hours old.

Unfortunately I missed the actual birth, being in the carpark at the time. And, having done my customary right turn on entering the Zoo, I didn't stumble on the vicuña until a while after the happy event. I did see someone had posted a pic of the birth on the Zoo Facebook page though.

What a great series of photos! And that horrible orange wall actually rather enhances them too, strangely enough....

Thanks! And, yes, you're right about the wall; although it's very much an assault on the senses, it does seem to work with the vicuña colours.
