The Man-eating Mara`s

Are they mixed with any primates? Squirrel monkeys or something would make it seem like less of a 'we had this empty exhibit and needed something to put in it' type scenario.

Nope all on their own in what used to be the old Gorilla enclosure, and until a few months ago Chimps. But they had to move these and the Vicuna from their paddock as they are about to be pulled down to make way for the new Gibbon complex!

Seriously?!?!?

Makes me think of the killer rabbit scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! Where's John Cleese?

So many interesting species that could use this enclosure :p

Clouded Leopard would be nice in there, maybe with a little more vegetation.

The Man-eating...

Maras are really dangerous. If they get out, you have to shoot them. Or is that Sacred Ibis?

Why don't they consider putting one of the Bonobo groups in here?

This would then give both groups fulltime access outside rather than the rotation they have going on atm with having only one outside enclosure

Seriously?!?!?

Makes me think of the killer rabbit scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! Where's John Cleese?

Reminds me rather more of the Fierce Creatures scene, where the new zoo director (John Cleese) was being shown some of the small mammal exhibits, many of which have had new signs that rather overstate the dangerousness of the inhabitants (e.g. describing meerkats as the "piranhas of the desert"), so the species can remain at the zoo under the new "Fierce Creatures" policy. When they reach the mara exhibit:

Director (reading new sign): "Now, these Patagonian Maras of yours, um, devastate entire Argentinian villages do they?"
Head Keeper: They completely wipe them out sir, shocking to watch"
Director (consulting encyclopedia: "Says here, they eat grass"
Head Keeper: "No, no, thats for h'ordeuvres, sir. When their blood's up-"
Director: "Lotterby, you are trying to decieve me into thinking that some of your animals are fierce - "
Head Keeper: "I'm talking about the rogue one's sir"
Director: "- when they are, in fact, lovable, cuddly and surplus to requirements!"

I wonder where these will go next, as give it 12-18 months and this exhibit should be coming down too!
