This is the original 'Chimp Colony' building i.e. this was the first time Twycross built a house to keep a group of chimps together, as against in pairs etc in the old Green Mile cages. Its now the most antiquated ape building, still housing two sets of three. Hopefully they will be integrated with all the others in due course.
I take it there was no sign of any building/site clearance for a new Chimpanzee house yet in the area below the Giraffe House?
I think you would have noticed any bulldozers or building work going on- also there has been no recent mention/publicity by the Zoo of this development- I fear it may be slipping behind their schedule now .
