Now I would say those are Guinea, not Olive baboons. They are very 'ginger' in colour- the trademark of Guinea baboons. I wonder where they came from originally?
Good point Pertinax , they came from Portugal I believe . They are long-limbed slim animals , I seem to remember the Guinea baboons at Port Lympne and Edinburgh are chunkier .
Rather strange . I checked Jonathan Kingdon's 'African Mammals' . The description and appearance of the Cefn-yr-Erw baboons matches the Yellow Baboon most closely - a slender babbon - but the colour is totally wrong . Guinea Baboon males are stockier with a cape which this male , which was pretty big , did not have .
