I thought they were Sulawesi macaques, but then there was no info sign. There were two males, they seemed really frustrated.

Black mangabeys then. there were several in the Uk at one time but they all seem to have disappeared. I wonder if these came from colchester perhaps?
 
Colchester must be insane to send animals here, no matter how well meaning the owners are.
 
Oh they came from Colchester? Must be quite stressful, I'd imagine Colchester's enclosure to be quite good.
 
Turns out they're ex pets from a bloke in Belgium. They attacked him after he had an op, sensed his weakness apparently. Suffice to say this cage is probably better than where they came from.
I was also shocked to learn that the spider monkey lived in a parrot cage in someone's conservatory. I think people should start to learn whole stories before judging a place and claiming the animals were better off before.
 
I don't think this argument really works in terms of a few square feet. Sure, they have a little more space, and probably better diets than their previous homes, but they are still in small cages. What's more, they are outdoors so the climate will restrict them to the little sheds attached to these cages for much of the day/year.
