Margay enclosure

Did you like this enclosure Jimmy? Was it easy to spot the margay?

The enclosure was ok - it was well planted, well furnished and is hidden away so it's not particularly noisy.

However on 4 visits to this enclosure I failed to see the Margay once

There is a show den - when I was there the cat was curled up in there. The enclosure used to have Geoffroy's Cats, which were also tricky to see.

It's a good enclosure, particularly for what it must have cost (ie not much!).

Yeap, it's definatly one of the better enclosures at the zoo. It's rather hidden away from visitors aswell, so doesnt get that much attention.
Im yet to see a Margay there, though i did see a Geoffreys Cats when it was them housed here.

It does look like a very good enclosure for the Margays,
Great very the species it is holding very elusive and secretive creatures

usually see him when hes being fed, or very early or very late. even then hes curled up by the door at the back of the enclosure. after all, he is a nocturnal creature

some visitors seem to think that theres no point in having a nocturnal animal even though the margay is endangered...
