Both species were out and about.
They were all foraging around (apart from one Raccoon that was very badly pacing) and seemed not to take any notice of one another.
I should also mention that the albinos were albino coatis, not albino raccoons.
the invasive species act I believe, all raccoons kept privately and in zoos are going to be legally phased out due to the risk of them being invasive if they escape.
Whether they will be able to manage such an act is another matter!

Correct - I believe any individuals in zoos are to be given the snip and allowed to die off naturally, but any in private collections are to be PTS straight away.
My understanding was that there was to be no mass slaughter of proscribed species, just prohibition of breeding, which will of course mean that we will eventually not be able see these species without travelling abroad. I am really going to miss Sacred Ibis and North American Ruddy Ducks.
