Those are most defiantly alpacas. The low slung tail and smaller ears are good indicators. In addition llamas usually do not grow that much hair on their heads.
They may have called them Llamas because Joe Public might not know what an Alpaca was -- this would be less important now, as the UK at least is crawling with Alpacas, and very nice too.
