African Lion in Simba Hills reserve at Woburn Safari Park, 28 February 2009

This drive-through reserve is 32 acres in size and houses a very large pride of lions. This particular young lion appeared to want to go indoors!

He looks really elongated, especially his front leg - is it just a visual trick because of the background he's against?

Yes, it's a visual trick, plus he did seem to be really stretching with all his might

He's certainly a beautiful boy, love his spotty juvenile markings.

His markings show up really nicely on the other photo of him I uploaded to the gallery. This was taken when he had finished stretching and was about to walk back to the rest of the pride.

This is another female, Tia, who is part of the youngest litter - born in June 2007.

Either Tamby or Ambers, I havent been keeping track on Woburns Lions too much recently, sort of gave up with them!
Shame to see the Pride left with Big old Shane, was great to see the Pride about 8 years ago with Sly and Shanes predecsesor's, Legs Diamond and Romeo - Superb individuals.
