I guess they still have just the castrated male group of 5?- though these do look more like adult males now. I believe they said their intention was to get 'breeders' at some stage.

Think I saw four, in the end. All looked like quite good-sized males.

Pleased that Woburn is making such an effort to diversify into a mainstream animal collection. Hope they do get to have some breeding group at some time.

I believe they all came from Germany (Stuttgart?). I saw the Documentary series on Woburn and was surprised to seem how mature the males have become and look since their arrival. Wasn't the plan to bring in two females and keep two pairs?

I think they probably came from Hanover which has the largest European group and therefore the most surpus males to weed out. The young castrated male at Port Lympne(Kasalo) must be at least as old as these ones, but he's just a skinny-looking thing hardly any bigger than the females though a bit longer in the leg.

Woburn will need an entire(non-castrated)male as well as females if they want to breed. Perhaps a 1.2 unit could be added to these without too much upset.

Hanover does sound familiar now you mention it. Woburn did have 4.0 I wonder if one has died or (More likely) that Maguari didn't see the other one. :o

Yes, please don't take my numbers as indicative of anything other than what I saw - I don't usually make a particular effort to see every individual or take an accurate count unless I've a particular reason for doing so - I just like looking at the animals. :D
