Another good sized enclosure, with a pond in the centre, housing 2 rescued Bengal Tigers. 1 being an 18 year old male, used in the Esso advertising campaign a long time ago,and a much younger female to keep him on his toes!

do the tigers have a enclosure each?

and how long has this place been open i have never heard of it before?

No,the Tigers share one large enclosure. They seam to get on ok but aren't overly friendly. I think its more a case of tolerating each other.;) They were both last minute rescue cases so I don't think the park had much choice but to house them together. Its probably good for the male as he is 18 and it will keep him feeling younger having a female to liven him up.

Its only in the last year that Woodside has acquired its 3 main exhibits I believe. The tigers as mentioned were a rescue case, the wolves were acquired from Wuppertal zoo in Germany (1 of the females was causing trouble by trying to take over the pack leadership from the present leader so needed to be separated quickly,so they brought her and 3 others as company ) and the Lynx are a new addition. I think they are brother and sister so no breeding planned for those 2  I think it has been established atleast 6 or 7 years as I was once bought a falconry experience day there but never went. They used to do pig-racing and more child orientated stuff but its definitely a much more "serious" wildlife park now.
My partner and I stayed all day, aided a lot by the fact we love taking photos and we stay in one place probably more than normal to observe behaviour and try and get good shots, but if you rushed round it wouldn't take more than an hour to see everything. But if you take a leisurely walk round, plan your day around the numerous talks/demonstrations/falconry displays and animal hold/stroke opportunities then you can easily spend 4 or 5 hours here.We spent 7 and only saw some exhibits twice, most stuff only once. Not the greatest wildlife park out there, but for under a tenner its cracking value. And its in the middle of nowhere so has lots of room to expand. Don't be surprised if its doubled in size in the next 5 years.:)
