I wonder if they'll bother to replace these old specimens when they die though- as they inherited them and its not really a major species for an upcoming place like this. Or will they?

I honestly have no idea - they definitely were inherited (somewhat unexpectedly) from the Shire Horse Centre. I would love them to continue with the species but it's hard to see that replacing them would be a priority. Here's hoping, anyway.
Does anyone know how many pairs of Raccoon Dogs there are in the UK, as I used to work with this couple when the park was still Brockholes Farm and I do happen to know they are pretty old, also on that note does anyone know how long they live on average?
This pair were also very friendly back then, but not so much anymore. It would be a great shame for me if they couldn't be replaced when this pair eventually die.
This doesn't mean much, though, in terms of total UK population as this is exactly the kind of species that will be about in private hands. I've no idea what number there'd be about.
Zootierliste only lists three public collections with them; YWP, Tweddle Children's Animal Farm and Eden Ostrich World (ZootierlisteHomepage).

Well they where labelled when I visit but was told by staff, they had left the collection and had been replaced by Raccoons, that were being kept in the old Raccoon Dog exhibit. That said they could have got more as they are about in private hands!!
