View of Guinea Baboon enclosure

Thank you ZG for your detailed pictures of this exhibit, much appreciated.

Have you seen this style of barrier before? ( the curved structure along the top) looks like a very cost effective perimeter wall.

Not a problem the reason I posted the pictures, was just because so far everyone else that posted a picture of it only seemed to be bothered with the Baboons, which I have to admit is a damn nice species!!I have NEVER seen this style of barrier used before but between that and the electric fence it seems to keep them in no problem,I had a bit of a feel of the barrier and it felt a bit like some type of plastic but i wouldn't swear to that being 100% correct as to what it is!

View of Guinea...

Monkeyworld used to rely heavily on hot wires, but are now using sort of half pipe tops to fences for Chimps, Orangs and possibly others, in some case possibly as a backup to hot wires. Having seen Macaques trying to short out electric fences, it shouldn't be particularly challenging for an Orang.

I seam to remember George Motershed in his book Zoo Without Bars the story of Chester zoo's founding, telling the story of an orang who learned to short circuit the electric fence with a blanket and then was able to climb out, I think it was a moat fence too if memory serves me right. It must be very nearly 30 years since I read that book.
