This animal has held the same pose for all of my recent visits. The only reassuring thing is that he changes his position within the vivarium. Is this a normal basking pose?

Thanks, I saw a few elongated tortoises looking the same this morning, which was reassuring. I used to keep Egyptian tortoises and never saw them like this; probably just because they have a more timid nature.
Although not a chelonian, my leopard gecko also does this over the spot where his heat mat lays underneath. By laying the limbs like that, they gain a greater surface area and can therefore abosorb more heat.
