What kind of vegetation is this? Looks like it could be dried-out eucalyptus leaves.A major drawback of nocturnal houses is that the unavailability of a natural-light spectrum and photoperiod makes natural planting a real challenge / virtually impossible.I have strong opinions on this , but I would love to hear what others think.
They look almost like bay leaves to me.
The mammal exhibits in the Nightzone at Regents Park have always used this type of furnishing. Since the house was modified to create the large rainforest exhibit in the middle of one wing, which occupies both stories of the building, there is less space and so fewer nocturnal enclosures in the basement. However a couple of them now show Madagascar ground boas and some large terrestrial and arboreal toads - these have live vegetation, palms, ferns and other 'houseplant' type species.
