Salome as a baby

Aged about 2 months. Salome was sired by Samson at Bristol. Her mother Lomie returned to London during pregnancy and she initially looked after Salome quite well, but she lost interest after a few weeks. Salome was hand-reared. She is currently at Bristol.

Thank you for uploading this photo, Alan. It is so lovely to see what Salome was like as a youngster. I have only known her as an adult. I must say it is wonderful seeing her so happy now as a mother again. I love going to Bristol and watching the whole group

Had no idea she was hand reared!

Lomie failed to rear Salome (and Saul) but was a very good mother to her last three babies- Jomie and Djouli at Howletts and Shani at Chessington. Only Salome & Shani are still alive.

Both Salome and Zaire were handraised yet both were perfect first-time mothers at London. Romina at Bristol was also partially handraised(in Rome) but also proved a perfect first-time mother at Bristol.

Yet strangely, one or two females at Howletts raised in the groups later proved to be lazy/neglectful mothers.

Bristol did very well to finally get her to produce another viable infant(Komale) and now the icing on the cake with her 2nd son born last September, and without any fertility treatment necessary this time.
