Pigeon & Parakeet in the Forest at Te Wao Nui, Auckland Zoo.
This Red-crowned Parakeet scooted down the branch to this NZ Wood Pigeon and proceeded to nibble the pigeons feet and feathers. The pigeon seemed a tad annoyed by this, but too regal to bother flying away or trying to repel the smaller bird, although he made a couple of attempts to dissuade the parakeet from his activity by pecking him gently on the head. This did not work. The parakeet continued for at least ten minutes, although I did not stay longer than this.
