For his age, 13 years old, he's the most undeveloped male I have seen. Most males(including ones that live together) are fully silverbacked by then. Living with another (slightly) older silverback male (Vimoto) is the explanation they give for him still being blackbacked, but it seems unlikely unless he was dominated excessively..

He looks more like the average nine year old male. The photos on the ZSL website make him look better than this but still very young looking. He may change dramatically in the coming months though.
The photo isn't too flattering, it was just the only time he was sitting still and I was in an area with limited reflections on the glass. Mind you, when I first saw him in open space I remember being surprised that he wasn't heavier-built.
