Golden Headed Lion Tamarin with baby

Baby Emperor Tamarin that is.

Any idea why this has happened? Is it common in thee kinds of exhibits?
I've seen this before in mixed-species callitrichid exhibits, even across the marmoset/tamarin barrier! :D

It's just sharing of 'child'care I think, but it is interesting how it crosses the species boundary in these artificial assemblages. I'd be interested to know if it had been observed in the wild.
 
Very interesting photo, I still have to get down to London to see the Clore revamp.
